Frequently Asked Questions

Most of the following Q&A are geared towards high school senior sessions. 

Every senior that books a senior session with me will receive a very detailed senior guide answering any and all questions you have. It will help prepare you for your senior experience with me! 

How Far In Advance Should I Book My Session?

I generally book sessions months in advance so contact me as soon as possible to book your session. Summer, fall and spring are extremely popular times for senior sessions. Give me a call 717-654-3858, send an email to aprilhenryphotography@gmail.com, or complete the contact form on my website.

How Long Will My Session Last?

Most senior sessions are approximately 2 hours in length with 2-3 different locations. If you decided to get hair and makeup added to your experience that will add an additional 1.5 hours to your session.

Where Will My Session Take Place?

I will send out a questionnaire to get a better idea of what you are looking for and you will also come in to studio for a style consultation. We will discuss outfits and locations and decide what will work best for you. I have a variety of different locations I use for photoshoots. I want your session to be all about you and we want the locations to reflect your personality.  From fields to graffiti walls and everything in between, I have locations for everyone. I am happy to make recommendations based on your personality and style.

What Should I Bring To My Session?

Plan to bring a variety of outfits 4-5 is ideal and bring your outfits on hangers, or nicely folded so that they are not wrinkled.  

​

Bring accessories - jewelry, bracelets, necklaces, hats, a jean jacket, sunglasses, watch, and shoes for each outfit. 

​

If you have anything special you want to include in your session such as a letterman jacket, your car, pet, etc. be sure to let me know ahead of time so I can plan accordingly.

Bring a water bottle and snacks in case you get hungry during your session. Summer can get hot and having fresh water is always a bonus! 

 

Girls should bring extra make up for touch ups and any other products they feel they might need. 

 

A parent must attend the session with you.

What If It Rains Or Is Scheduled To Rain The Day Of My Session?

I know that weather is extremely unpredictable and can change on a moment's notice.  I wait until the day of your session and make a determination.  If the weather is certain to be inclement, I will reschedule to the soonest possible date that I have available.

What About Hair and Make-Up?

Hair and make-up is a very important part of your senior session.  Some girls get their hair and make-up done before their session and others prefer to do it themselves.  I want you to love your images, so it's up to you as to how you do your hair and make-up. 

​

Having your make-up professionally done is always a bonus because having "camera ready" make up will really add to making your pictures amazing.  Many girls want a very "natural look" and all of the professional make-up artists I work with know how to give you a natural look. I do recommend lashes, as they will make your eyes pop.  Your lip color can be natural if that's what you prefer.
